Our Vision
Serving the Community, Working in
Partnership
Hounslow Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre
is in West London in the Borough of Hounslow, a
diverse community with a rich history and home to
one of the UK's largest Muslim population. Our
primary objective is to serve the religious and
social needs of the local community.
Our partnerships with Hounslow Council, Hounslow Primary Care Trust, Friends of Hounslow Interfaith Forum, the Metropolitan Police and many others have helped us to contribute towards continuous improvements to community services.

Promoting Tolerance and Community
Cohesion
Hounslow
Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre works actively to
promote tolerance and understanding.
We enjoy excellent interfaith relationships. The Mosque regularly welcomes visitors from religious groups, schools, police and emergency services, Councils, and various other local, national and international agencies. In addition, we facilitate induction programmes for non-Muslim organisations to promote better understanding and community cohesion.
Our Imams, the Trust of the Mosque and community workers encourage constructive engagement in society and unequivocally reject extremism and terrorism in all its forms.
We advise all worshippers to ensure they are registered to vote and to take part in local and national elections.

Youth and Women: Encouraging
Participation
Hounslow Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre
welcomes and offers a range of services, enabling
young people to actively engage in a positive and
safe environment; in programmes of learning,
dealing with issues of anti-social behaviour,
drugs, extremism and gang culture. This mosque
uniquely has the services of a young and locally
educated Imam, for better engagement with the youth
to actively encourage and further their
participation.
The mosque provides facilities allowing women access to relevant services within a culturally sensitive environment, including training, social support, legal, health and well-being advice. These activities are offered in partnership with Hounslow Council, Metropolitan Police, members of our congregation with specialist skills and other community organisations.
Hounslow Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre strives to provide a culture of choice and to encourage individuals of our community who may feel isolated from mainstream services.
